Downtown Houston stands in the very center of the city and contains many spectacular skyscrapers which dominate much of the area, together with an expansive historical area and a number of charming, old streets. Houston's famed theater district can also be found in this part of the city.

To the south of downtown Houston you will find the lively Midtown, a particularly appealing area of the city, full of popular shops and stylish buildings, while to the southwest of central Houston lies the museum district, which boasts an impressive selection of museums and galleries. Other notable districts in the city include Uptown Houston and The Heights area.
